We will leave questions for him to answer and hopefully he will answer them by Monday. So, think about a question that you want to ask him!

    4. You will do some practice multiple choice activities related to the theme of la belleza. This will be an evaluación. If you have been reading thoroughly, you should be able to get the gist of these and do well.

DURING VACATION

  2. During vacation and due Monday (3/6), do 2-3 (or more) hours of active authentic listening in Spanish and do the following:
    1. Keep a log what you listen to and for how long 
    2. As you listen, write down new and/or useful phrases, sentences, and/or grammar that you hear. Write the Spanish and the Enlgish. You should have at least 20-30 phrases/sentences.
    3. What is authentic listening? It can be podcasts (I LOVE this one, and you can listen and read the transcripts), television shows (there are lots on Netflix), or music (this is not as useful).
    4. Why are we doing this? Everything on the AP test is authentic, so this will help to get you ready for that.
    5. You will be graded on the amount of time you spend listening, what you choose to listen to, and the amount and quality of your useful phrases and/or sentences.

  4. The Monday (3/6) after vacation, you will be doing an Interpersonal Writing: E-mail reply evaluación. It is on page 164 in the WORKBOOK. To understand this section of the test, you should read pages 156-157. Also, see e-mail related vocabulary on page 228. The rubric is on page 221.

  3. Watch this cortometraje ¨La Familia Digital¨ and write the following on page 3:
    1. Write down 5-8 sentences/phrases that different people say (in Spanish). Make sure you note who said it. 
    2. Write down 5-8 things that different people do. Use the preterite and imperfect. Make sure you note who said it.
    3. Also, write a short summary (2-4 sentences) about what you think the propósito of the video is.

  1. Monday, we will do la evaluación de hablar:  socratic seminar style class discussion.
    1. Click here to read more about what a seminario socrático is, why we are doing it, and how you will be graded.
    2. Fill in page 32. You will have this during the discussion. Make sure your questions are not yes/no, simple questions.
    3. Write some notes to help you answer the questions on page 33. You will have these notes during the discussion.
    4. Look at the questions on pages 34. You cannot have notes for those questions, but you should be prepared to answer any of them. These will be drawn from a hat.
    5. This will be graded as an assessment. See last page of this doc to see rubric.
