At the end of class, everyone is going to go to this new flipgrid topic (password: yaku) and record a question Ricardo Martínez (a reporter who knows a lot about Bolivia, Venezuela, y los recursos naturales). We will leave questions for him to answer and hopefully he will answer them by Monday. So, think about a question that you want to ask him!

      4. If you are looking to go deeper into También la lluvia, this video has interviews with the actors and the director.
      5. Tarea Semanal this is the same as last week- Do TWO of the audios on vhlcentral and do the multiple choice questions that go along with it. Look for the assignments that are due April 4th (no, you don't have to do all of them! I just assigned them to give you some extra practice). You still have to do the normal write up. In the write up, tell me how you did on the multiple choice. It is not part of your grade, I just want you to get some practice and tell me how you do.

Read Frida Kahlo pgs. 1-17 and write a 5-10 (please keep it concise!) sentence summary about what you read and your reactions to it (reactions can be: comparisons to your own life, comparisons to someone else's life, an illustration, and/or a #BookSnap (Google #Booksnap for some inspirations).
      3. Ongoing: Think about these paintings by Frida Kahlo connect to her life. Take some notes to use for when we discuss this on Friday.
      4. You will do some practice multiple choice activities related to the theme of la belleza. This will be an evaluación. If you have been reading thoroughly, you should be able to get the gist of these and do well.
      5. After lunch, you will have time to work on your presentation about an artist.
    2. Due Wednesday
      1. Work on artist presentation. Make sure you are using your own words and you are practicing saying it.
      2. Read Frida Kahlo pgs. 18-34 and write a 5-10 sentence summary about what you read and your reactions to it (reactions can be: comparisons to your own life, comparisons to someone else's life, an illustration, and/or a #BookSnap (Google #Booksnap for some inspirations).

        1. Recomendación: Radio Ambulante's latest episode is really interesting: "Ser marrón" (Being brown... in Maine (before and after the election of Trump). You do not have to listen to the whole thing, but maybe 3-5 minutes of it. You could continue to use this each week.
      2. Read the article and answer the questions on pages 17-19. Make sure you read this twice... this is a challenging article and it might take you two times to fully understand it.

    3. Watch this cortometraje ¨La Familia Digital¨ and write the following on page 3:
      1. Write down 5-8 sentences/phrases that different people say (in Spanish). Make sure you note who said it. 
      2. Write down 5-8 things that different people do. Use the preterite and imperfect. Make sure you note who said it.
      3. Also, write a short summary (2-4 sentences) about what you think the propósito of the video is. 
    4. If you have time, look at pages 8-9 to see some vocabulary related to this unit or click here and do some Quizlet practice.

    1. Monday, we will do la evaluación de hablar:  socratic seminar style class discussion.
      1. Click here to read more about what a seminario socrático is, why we are doing it, and how you will be graded.
      2. Fill in page 32. You will have this during the discussion. Make sure your questions are not yes/no, simple questions.
      3. Write some notes to help you answer the questions on page 33. You will have these notes during the discussion.
      4. Look at the questions on pages 34. You cannot have notes for those questions, but you should be prepared to answer any of them. These will be drawn from a hat.
      5. This will be graded as an assessment. See last page of this doc to see rubric.
